I am a huge Three Days Grace (3DG) fan ever since their last album, One X. Now they are back with an ubber awesome album called Life Starts Now. The bassist, Brad Walst, describes the album about “confronting life and how fragile it can be.” Now that’s the kind of music I like to hear, music with a meaning, not like some crazy rap songs, which I will save for another blog. Now let’s get to the good stuff.
Last To Know is a soft, melodic song, although near halfway the song it shifts into more of a alternative rock type of song. It’s pretty much about a breakup, a girl dumping a guy for another guy, and he was the last person to know about the breakup. In my opinion, it’s a great song because it has emotion, since it was a real life experience one of the band members went through. Plus, it’s just a sad song to listen to. I strongly believe this song stacks up to other 3DG hits, like Animal I Have Become and I Hate Everything About You. I really hope you guys take the time to listen to this song instead of just skiping it thinking it’s a waste of time.
Life Starts Now is another song from the album. Just like nearly ALL theirs songs, this song speaks to you and sends a message. Unfortunately, I have no clue what the message is, but I think it goes a little like this. Life is like a roller coaster, once you stop going down, you go right back up, and that’s when life truly starts, while you are going up. Going down the life coaster doesn’t mean it’s gonna end, but what it means is that your life is just going through a phase, and once it’s over, you come back from it with experience to use on the next time you go down on the life coaster. I hope I didn’t confuse you, but that’s the best way I can explain this song, in MY interpretation. This song also stacks up with the big dogs.
All in all, this is a great album for 3DG and a fine addition to their song library, not to mention a great addition to anyones’ mp3. Just remember that the meanings of the songs that I put there are MY OPINIONS. Don’t be shy to leave a comment telling me what interpretation you came up with from listeting to these songs. That is the one of the main points in music, the way YOU interpret it.
DISCLAIMER: I don’t own neither the songs nor the videos. The songs belong to Three Days Grace and the I got the video from some dude on youtube. I will delete this from my blog is asked to by Three Days Grace or their respective record company, Jive Records.
